1 〔音の伝わり〕 a sound; 〔騒音〕 a noise; 〔鈴･雷など〕 a peal; 〔鐘など〕 a boom; 〔銃剣などの〕 a clash; a clangor; 〔銃砲〕 a report; a bang; 〔爆発音〕 an explosion; a detonation; 〔車などの爆音〕 a detonation; 〔墜落･衝突〕 a crash.

●ピアノの響き the sound of a piano

・祭り太鼓の響き the sound [reverberations, boom(ing)] of a festival drum

・馬蹄(_ばてい)の響き the clip-clop of a horse's hoofs

・朗々たる声の響き the sound of a clear resonant voice.
